WHY ATTEND

That obstacle is cultural bias. That is, the tendency that we human beings have to engage in negative stereotypes about certain groups, and to reject perspectives that don’t match our own. Very often, these cultural biases are unconscious. We think we’re being open and embracing diversity, but our actions suggest the opposite.

In this Webinar, diversity expert Lynn Ware will explore the cultural biases that prevent us from achieving the diverse, inclusive workplace cultures we all believe in. She’ll talk about the behaviors that recognize and respect different perspectives, and show why embracing diversity and inclusion results in better ideas, more innovative products, higher overall employee engagement, and high profitability.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Topics covered:

  • What do we mean by diversity and inclusion?
  • What’s included in a diverse workforce: different generations (there are five), races, religions, sexual orientations, socio-economic classes, heritages, educational levels, languages and personality types.
